Hello All,

I have just been wondering if anybody has used liveauctioneers.com to buy vintage items? I have seen some pretty good deals on there that almost make me think it could not be a legitimate site. If it is, it could be a good place to get deals:)

In the antique market, they at times have appeared to "over describe" certain items. They seem to promote a lot of common everyday collectibles as "one of a kind" "outstanding"! What they describe as wonderful historical pieces, I might describe as 50's s--t. The market is down ( except high end ) but To each his own. I don't pay much attention to them now. John

Mr. Chevalier, I just found the sight today. I don't know about the vintage clothing, but they do have some nice watches that looked worth bidding on. I am just trying to figure out if they are legit, what are they like to deal with, etc.

John, thanks for your input. Descriptions and sales pitches aside, is liveauctioneers.com, honest and OK to deal with?

My understanding is they are a group of folks who own shows or auction houses and they all pooled together. Each auction may be a separate individual you deal with. I have never had any bad dealings or financial problems with items I purchased in the past, but I have not used them recently because of their inventory. When they began, I believe they would have all checked out financially. It may be owned under one mastermind now, but the sales come from the individuals. Unfortunately Financial stress in this business now is the norm. Watches have risen with the gold prices but dropped with fewer people able to afford. If they had something I wanted, I would look into them like any other NEW seller and check them out. I would not be afraid to buy.--John
