Let’s see ‘em. Military issue, mil-spec, punk fashion.

Mods, feel free to move if this isn’t the right forum. I’m still kind of new here.

These were one of the issued pairs of GP (General Purpose) boots I got in the Australian Army prior to the black leather being replaced with ‘baby **** mustard’ coloured leather. A couple years after that, we moved to a fabric style boot like they use now. 35 years old and hardly worn.

Here is a pair of " historic brown " Corcoran jump boots I bought about 5 years ago.
I thought they'd make a decent dressy boot if I stripped the brown paint finish off, re-dye, then Polish them up, but I just never ended up liking them much.
I ended up just using them as yardwork/ mowing beater boots, and on top of getting more comfortable they also started looking better.
They're still just beaters for me though.

These USGI BELLVIEW ICW boots were available for $30 from just about every surplus dealers website here in the US about 2 years ago and I ordered a couple pairs.

One pair I wore a couple times then put away for later.

This pair I added the kilties to in an effort to civilian them up a bit because I don't really like the black combat boot look.
Then I beat the snot out of them trail hopping on my minibike before experimenting with adding some brown color to the wear.

I owned some Corcorans about 10 years ago and they were exceptional boots. Haven’t purchased any recently though.

These were my dad's last issued pair of RO-SEARCH black combat boots , he gave them to me as a teenager and they were my go-to lawn mowing boots for a long time.

That’s awesome! You reminded me of my dad’s ‘Vietnam’ jungle boots that I used to borrow for school camps. I think he actually bought them soon after returning from Vietnam in ‘69 along with a field jacket, helmet and some other stuff. But I’ll always remember as his Vietnam boots. I need to make sure I get them in his will!

At one point during his 12 years with the US ARMY they actually had him assigned as a boot tester, and he owned a number of prototype / experimental combat boots that would be cool to own.
He accidentally left a bunch of his stuff behind in his off base house near ft Benning after a divorce and no longer has any of the boots, but apparently there were some pretty cool ones like a pair of the hot weather " jungle boots " in a russet brown rough out.
He also had a pair of black Corcorans jump boots with toe taps that he lost, those were a BX purchase item that I'm surprised he was allowed to wear considering that he wasn't airborne or anything.
I guess some bases and units are different, and had different rules for base wear during peacetime.

I have thought about getting him a pair of black Corcorans as a gift, but he just doesn't like wearing boots anymore.
