I wanted those boots with the knife pocket when I was a kid.My parents never bought them for me.Too expensive.

I just bought the Whites smokejumpers from the classifieds.I feel better now.

I wouldn't mind having a pair of one of the tall boots to wear while riding my 1940's motorcycle, but I doubt that they even made my size 13 back then. [huh]

Wesco or Whites, if you don't mind dropping a load of $$$$. For a more reasonable cost, Carolina still makes them, but only in black, and I would guess Dr. Martens still makes their 20 eyelet boots in black and oxblood.

What Price Glory also does a very nice m41 Cavalry Boot. Don't own a pair myself but know a couple of folks who do and they love them.

A pair headed for the USMC Museum at Parris MCRD These are a copy of boots issued to the mounted detachment of the Embassy Marine guard detachment in Peking 1905 to 1940 also know as The Horse Marines.

I call these Café Racers they are based on the ww1 U.K. cavalry boots. When the supply was exhausted boot makers made these for the dare devils on their Matchlesss and Vincents

Lord Strathconas Horse a Canadian cavalry regiment recruited and shipped to South Africa for the Boer wars. His Lordship is reputed to have paid for the boots himself. The style was adopted by the RCMP and is associated world wide with the mounties uniform.

My quest has been for a plain pair of leather boots. Imagine a pair of Red Wing Iron Rangers with 12"
Tops. That's all. Same sole, heel, speed lacings. Simple plain high top old school boots.

We can do these anyway you want, an outside counter cover, brown or black bridle, lined or unlined, half gusset tounge or full, toes can be on a munson last, or round, square, or pointed. They can be 5 to 16 inches tall. There are shoe and boot makers in the U.S. and the U.K. willing to make what you want.

I was curious if you could do just that with that 1904 boot! I have admired that particular boot for a while on your website! Very interesting! Thanks for the info!!!

A 16" lace up built on a womans size 9 munson last. Spanish calf.
