I'm starting to correspond a bit with the director. I hope it lasts.

He said he went to film school in Long Beach, CA. This music video was filmed at the Los Feliz Derby in Los Angeles and in the city of Long Beach. It was shot with late 1940's film equipment and was edited on a flatbed machine. He said they did not have enough lights to light the entire Derby, and so decided to only light the characters, hence the film noiry darkness.
