I'm thinking about getting something from Japan or Scotland but worried it will have a problem clearing coustoms due to the US govt shutdown.

Has anyone experienced any delays in shipping or with duties from shipments overseas?

There may or may not be a delay because of the shortage of government workers in Customs. But if you don't order, there definitely will be a delay, and a much longer one at that.

Had an Aero blue label shipped to the US last week, it took about 3 days via UPS, who also processed the import tariffs, I believe they charged $10 for that service, much better than DHL’s $27 fee.

I just bought a jacket from Germany, shipped to the US, cleared customs fine, but tariffs were horrible. Paid like 20 percent with handling feeds included.
