Interwar barnstormer jacket? Looking for opinions on age and condition

Hi all,
I’d like to get your opinions on a specific barnstormer-style jacket that is claimed to date from the interwar period (1920s–30s).

How would you assess the condition of the jacket based on the photos — especially considering its supposed age?
Any thoughts, references, or comparisons would be very welcome.

I've a couple of Vintage B-stormers. Both have shearling uppers with quilted fabric lower. That "wool" lining doesn't look thick enough to me to handle the job. I assuming it has no label or tags?

Looks like a French Canadienne jacket. Hard to pinpoint the age but it id say the jacket is from the 50s.

I would guess this isn't as warn as alpaca, though if there's room for layering it could still be very practical, and it looks to be in excellent condition. Depending on what you mean by 'cheap', could be worth considering anyhow, even of not a 'dead of Winter' coat.

Some of these came with a zip-in shearling lining, those provide much more warmt than the ones which only have the thin wool lining.

FS: 50s French Barnstormer size 42 / 44

Wow yours looked really good on you. And it had the belt and with the original belt and vest. Mouton collar had better colour to. And the price was nice.

These "barnstormers" were very popular fashion jackets from the 20s through the 50s. The came in a variety of linings and collars, some single breasted. They are typically made of heavy horsehide and quite heavy. While warm they can be a bit of a burden to wear. The vintage models show up quite often and there are the modern versions. The vintage models don't sell that well. You should be able to find one at a reasonable price.

Isn't that jacket almost exactly like the shawl-collar leather ranch coat for example like the one by RRL or am I blind?
