This definitely falls under the heading of "what's the worst that could happen?" but I'm glad it worked. I've been wondering about stuff like this lately since it's getting harder to get watch batteries replaced around here, although my dad had luck recently with one place so I'm not desperate enough for DIY battery replacement yet.
