I also stated that I bought them when I weighed considerably more. I have lost said weight.
To recap, so we can bring everyone up to speed, this suit and one other (a brown one) are the same cut and fit. The other is a navy suit. It is a two button single breasted.
All were purchased by a much more overweight me. All three are worsted wool.

I fully understand your situation here; I'd say perhaps liquidate (see Ebay Bidding War Sell) those suits, or find a welcoming home for them, and buy yourself 2 or 3 suits (1 blue, 1 gray, & 1 brown, tan, or green), in your correct current size, and get the relatively minimal and more affordable alterations done, and wear and enjoy. The coat really does appear to be rather drastically over-sized on that one. I would especially recommend this if you're wearing those suits on the regular.
