Didn't Tony wear one in a 42 ? I think i remember him having two of them at somer point, maybe one old gen and one new gen, or one 42 and one 44, i don't remember...

He did but it was the TB Gambler. Not surprisingly he also had a Raid with a more generous cut.

I’ve read Raids fit a size up to multiple sizes up. And if the seller I bought it from is who I think, he normally measures a bit off but who knows. His jackets are normally impeccable. Figure for the money it was worth the risk for a gray Vanson. I really like gray hides.

This is the second time I’ve seen one of these curious 80s(?) British made CHP style jackets*—complete with the extra Lewis type collar snap. Couldn’t resist, we’ll see how much of a vintage size 36 it is…!

*Have also seen 80s/90s Taiwanese and Korean CHPs, as well as the modern Japanese and Chinese repros

I have another Vanson Model A en route and a Model B as well, both in black, size 46. They’ll arrive within a week.

I’ve got a lot of wear time in a white label (40-50 year old) Model A tri-color (chocolate / seal / black) but have never had a straight black A and I’ve never had a Model B of any color.

@JMax that grey raid is killer!! Should be a perfect fit for you. Raid runs a size large, the TB gambler runs a size small.
I picked up this Brooks with omega level collar. I modified it a bit by removing the windflap and hidden ****oris collar.
Not bad for $29 …guess nobody wanted it!

This turned up today too. Pioneerwear saddle coat. It’s a really thick naked tan cowhide. Reminds me of undyed Natal leather. Cinnamon roll leather buttons! I’ll probably shorten up the fringe bits and add some beads. Now all I need is a bogus ponytail, a fake knowledge of martial arts and hijacked submarine.

i am a big fan of Y'2 leather jackets.. in my limited experience ( i have 2 both from the Shop in Vancouver ) they fit at least 1 size small..good luck with the fit here.. im sure youll love the jacket

Nothing actually new, but my Taylor's CMPD is finally on it's way back to me from having the patchwork done by Steve at Bedo's.
It basically summer here now and I won't get to wear it any time soon, but it has been very weird constantly looking into my closet and seeing it's special hanger empty.
I really can't wait to have it back.

Interesting jacket. Has many of the CHP details (including fur-lined cuffs) but a much more British cut—longer and slimmer. I’ll probably replace the bust zip (which is in itself a poorly done replacement—the cuffs and pockets are all Riri) but that may come at the cost of being able to do it up! The side laces are much more cosmetic here than on a Cal—even undoing them all the way only buys limited space!

Picked up this short pumpkin made by Rome leathers in Peabody, Ma for $40. Sort of an amalgamation of two other similar jackets I already sold off. Probably going to 2 tone it.

Here it is boys!
As with 90-95% of leather jackets of my size I'd like less room in bottom hem and especially the waist, but it's not too bad, especially for this button up type 1 style.
Couldn't ask for a better fit in terms of length, sleeve length and width, upper body width, shoulders. Very comfortable.
The leather is 10/10 fantastic. FQ horsehide tanned and dyed with persimmons. Close to natural veg tan but not quite - even more sensitive to UV and sunlight I understand. Pliable, plenty thick, full of scars and markings, beautiful sheen, slight squeak, extremely pleasant hand/feel - not dry, rather wet like CXL. Very lightweight jacket overall.
The large back panel is definitely the star of the show.
For me this a perfect example of a "leather-first" jacket where the design is very minimalistic and let's the material really shine. Definitely on the exotic / exclusive / fancy side of the spectrum.
Last photo illustrates how it would look like if I'd tailor it and reduce the waist and bottom hem width.
I know that's pure blasphemy here on TFL and It's not likely that I'd actually do it!

Just unboxed this pioneer wear. I bought this same style in the fall last year and ruined it. This one is a size down and a nicer fit. Plus it’s rust suede , which I love!

My second summer present to me was a Vanson Oxford in Bainbridge Cedar from Thurston Brothers. It just recently arrived (it was closer at hand), but I don't have any fit pics yet. They will be soon to follow.

Great choices to start with! very classic models that'll go with almost everything from two amazing makers, can't go wrong with that really! Post some on body pictures when they land if you can
