Dios mio... Where did you get this jacket? I have never seen one in black and with a police batch holder. If you have time, could you PLEASE share lining images?

It did not appear as if the lining is original. I’m hoping the jacket can be brought somewhat to life and worn occasionally.

You can rock that jacket if you are careful. I would condition it with just tallow using your three mid-fingers. After a nice careful brushing to remove most of the dirt of course. I have known leather craftsman Deeping the entire hides on tallow to create a protective layer to hide. Here is a link to the technique, but to smaller scale.

I'm waiting on a new real mccoy's type 1 leather jacket in brown aniline. I usually take a size 44 or 42, but the shop strongly recommended I size down to a 40. I'm following their advice, the measurements seem to correlate with that.

From the rmc official photo, it looks like the shoulders drop down, which I see is reminiscent of denim type 1 jackets? Anyway the measurements show very large chest and shoulders for their respective sizes. I am expecting the sleeves to be slightly too short on me, and some shoulder over hang with a roomy boxy torso fit. But I am going to accept it.

I have several jackets that have this type of fit. For my own body type and comfort, I greatly prefer how these type of jackets wear to the other type. You are correct, wide shoulders and chest is period correct 1940s.

Interestingly, it seems that this type of styling seems to be more prevalent in the current fashion world (I think).

I just couldn't pass up the amazing deal on this Schott 118 (or 618?). I know this is a common jacket, but I've been looking for a black Schott perfecto for a long time (I own a brown 613). This comes with "Schott" stamped on snaps, "Ideal" zips on the cuffs and YKK as main one. No snaps for a fur collar. Made in mid-80s, maybe?

It showed up - pretty rough condition. It's on it's way to Japan where someone will profit off it.

Thanks for getting back and sharing more images of this nice jacket. I would have loved if the jacket had stayed in America instead of going to Asia. I bet there were some members that would have loved to add to their collection. My self included. For me, repairing and or adding some panels/zipper are within my wheelhouse. Well, I missed the opportunity to own it and keep it. Not for resale... Maybe next time. Once again, thanks for sharing!

Yes, unfortunately I have had many rare jackets that seem to never get sold on this forum, whereas when posted on eBay they get sold within a couple hours. I tend to post any jackets on here as a second thought.

This Perfecto arrived today! All is in place: zippers & snaps working, and pockets with no holes (but some tobbaco inside). The only drawback is that one of the cuffs pullers is broken, only the half remains.

Hesitating between whether this Schott is 618 or 118. As far I know, both are identical except for some extra measurements on shoulders and length in model 118. I this case, this naked cowhide jacket was made in the mid-1980s.

Applied some Pecard at collar and epaulettes, which were a bit dried. Also, a little of Fray Check behind the main zipper insertion pin. I think the jacket is ready for more rhythm!
