I suppose that Stu charged you 30-40% extra just for arranging the red deer. I remember when I asked him to choose Crown zippers instead of Talon for the Leathertogs the upcharge was massive (a couple of hundred $...and I wasn't that impressed) and much more than other makers would charge.

No the upcharge was reasonable cosidering the effort it required. You can see it on the website

No the upcharge was reasonable cosidering the effort it required. You can see it on the website

33% upcharge from $1500 (standard HH) to $2000 (red deerkin) but the result is excellent as usual. Of course I'm sure you're getting an extra discount as his best customer (or perhaps @Carlos840 is his best customer...I need to count both of your jackets ) I hope you receive it soon!

This is especially crazy because you can buy these zippers from Mash Japan for about $80.

BS, Crown main zippers are $250...
Personally i don't have a problem paying that price for them, he is one of the only makers providing them, he can charge what he wants.
If everybody else had them in stock for half of what he charges i would understand but this isn't the case.

I have ordered 5 jackets from Stu, paid full price on all of them, no discount for me...

I don't think it is either of us, I am pretty sure he has some customers who ordered more than both if us combined

Don’t be too hard on yourself @Robbie79. I inquired about putting a crown main zip on my Ryder and I was quite willing to pay the upcharge. Stu actually talked me out of this because he said that it was too big a zipper for the lighter weight HH I chose.

He definitely charged $450 for the Leathertogs A (Pocket/Sleeve Crowns: 5- $40.00 each - $200.00, #10 Crown - 250.00. total Crown $450). It's obvious that not everyone is getting the same conditions....

Another thing to consider about the Crown upcharge is that when you purchase the zipper from Stuart it comes with his guarantee and warranty. If something goes wrong with it I assume that he will step up and replace it for no charge.
I come across this from time to time in my electrical contracting business when I have clients who choose to purchase certain light fixtures or other items that I would normally provide. I always explain to them that they are welcome to do this but that they are sacrificing the warranty on the materials that I would normally provide if I purchased them myself.

It's my fault if I accept $450 just for zippers. On the other hand I wanted to handle them after hearing so many positive experience and I don't regret anything as I really like the jacket!
Btw. I was just talking to Stu about a red deerskin Leathertogs B...waiting time 6-8 weeks...OK...another Bavarian stupid joke

Same price i paid for all my jackets, what i meant is that the main crown zipper is 250$ not 450$ as implied above.
As i said above, can you name another maker that offers a full Crown package for less?

Ah, my bad, I was sure they're $450 for some reason. Probably confused them with mods price for my jacket.

I just placed my order with Aero so that a production slot could be reserved for me.
