Just doing some broad searches of late in regards to vintage western collecting and ran across this article on an Australian collector, Bernie McMahon.
Bernie McMahon : “Everyone is looking at me when I wear my best Western pieces” — AVANT

The article led me to Avant, a French publication that does in depth anthologies on vintage clothing. I found a copy of this one stateside that's on the way.

Shouldn’t disappoint BB. The Maggiori bros are both very talented and detail oriented. I did find the history of the Stetson hat a bit generic and lacking though. Let us know your thoughts once you’ve taken a gander.

I'm about a third of the way through it, and so far it's pretty good. I grabbed it when I preordered The Voices Behind Vintage Clothing a couple months ago. I read that edition first since it featured at least two Loungers. There are a few interviews in it that focus on Western wear as well.

If you're interested in either or both, Ross, let me know. GR isn't that far of a drive if you'd be up to meet up sometime. Otherwise USPS media shipping is quite reasonable.

This years was great, until the gov shutdown which shuttered the Gerald ford building housing dozens of entries. This is the last weekend for it too, going to try and see a little bit more of it what’s still available.

The season this shirt came out, I started drooling as soon as I saw it. I managed to sit on my hands until my size was gone and felt a little sadness but mostly relieved. It was expensive and I knew it would spend more time in the closet than anywhere else.

I only had one of what I think of as a ‘signature’ shirt with embroidered details and though it’s a great one, it’s an event shirt. Once or twice a year is about all the action these shirts can see. This one came up on the bay awhile back and I stopped sitting on my hands.

Some nice pieces, @TheOldFashioned. The sawtooth Jack Frost is a good one. I’ve seen several of their shirts where they were creative with the yokes. And your H Bar C jacket and shirt with the box pleats are great finds.
Thanks, Greg. I know you know what you're looking at, so it's no surprise you identified the oldest pieces from the 40s to early 50s. I've been searching forever to find period accurate H Bar C slacks to complete the outfit. Finding something pre-polyester, in my size, not riddled with moth holes and/or stains has proven to be darn near impossible. But the hunt continues.

Great post. Do you have a source on these dates? They seem later to me.

1940s McCall:

Good catch on the dating. 1950s McCall. The first one’s catalog number is “1925” which I thought was the year.
