House slippers

I wear these Greys wool mule slippers from Huckberry.

I have a quirk about my feet. I'm inordinately afraid of stepping on something, maybe due to repeatedly stepping barefoot on bees as a kid. So I always wear slippers. My favorite were a pair of opera slips as Edward shared above. Wore them completely out.
Now, it's Chinese black cloth flats in summer and my wife got me a pair of thick wool lined Uggs last Christmas for colder months. They're also fine for getting the mail.

Can't be stepping on Legos or a bit of stray dog food. Yeesh.
Last week I got a shard of broken glass in my foot. Thought I'd have a stroke.

Having slippers that can hold up to stepping outside occasionally is a must for me, particularly with the dog needing out first thing in the morning (living in a third floor flat, this is a lot more involved than just opening the back door, especially when the young master is having one of his Will Not Poo In The Garden, Only In Front Of The Cafe Round The Block days.

As I scroll Latest Posts on The Lounge, I’m wearing my Russell Moccasin, Onitas. Bought them at a traditional Outdoor Outfitters/Sporting Goods Store in Seattle in the late 1970’s. Was it Abercrombie and Fitch? I don‘t recall right now.

Apart from mocassin style I have a pair of traditional tartan wool ones with thick soles, great for the cold now in Spain

I used to only buy cheap memory foam slipper where the outsole would start disintegrating after a season. I recently got a pair of Goral SLUGGS that's have been quiet nice now that the weather getting colder.
