I picked up this old Bowler/Derby? in Kalispell, Montana about 20 years ago. Saw it in a corner of an antique shop kind of hidden by other junk. I thought it would be neat if it actually fit... it did. I'm assuming the store name was 'ECKELBERRY & BLAND KALESPELL MONT' That's what is on the sweatband anyway. If it had a liner, it's long-since gone. I wear a 7 3/8 so it's not a small size. Just wondering if I should keep it like it is or get it 'restored'? Any thoughts?

With the glued-on, round size sticker in the back of the sweatband that puts it around the turn of the 1900s. But, derbies of that age are not entirely uncommon and don't sell well on ebay. So I'd leave it as it is and not put more cash into it.

Closer view of the labeling, also on the front of the sweat band CUSHION FRONT is stamped into the leather. This is the fiirst time I've ever looked under the hatband, I don't know why... Pretty generous 71/4. I guess I answered some of my questions, but if you know about this manufacturer, I like to know more info.

Oh, I'd never sell it! This hat was waiting for me like a wayward child! To me it's worth more than 10 new hats!

Good Morning All,

This is my first post and I find myself here because I'm new to hats and I'm trying to identify a certain type of hat and am coming up with nothing. I figured Id stop here and ask the experts. Ive attached a couple photos of the hat Im looking for. Its the very short, round top with tight rolled sides that Im looking for.

It appears to be a relatively low telescope crown western with a wide brim.(Little Joe Cartwright style)I don't follow westerns but someone here will pitch in.I'm sure similar models are available and any of the custom makers could do one for you.
