This past weekend, I picked up two vintage hats for $20. A Wormser Open Road clone and a beautiful black Borsalino Marque Grand Luxe. I normally wear between a size 7 1/4 and 7 3/8. This black Borsalino 5x hat fits me just fine. The felt feels wonderful. I'm wondering what size it is, what the one small tag means, and how old it might actually be. It came with a diamond crease. I changed it to a telescope and raised the sides of the brim. I could find nothing on Teresa Darra, Napoli (Naples) embossed into the sweatband. Perhaps it was a hat store back in the day. It came with a liner, but I'll be replacing it with something purple or red, perhaps.

Any thoughts? Thank you in advance!

Very nice pickup. If you check under the sweatband inside the hat there should be a white celled tag. Photograph that and post here. That should give us more information.

So the Marocco is (as is obvious) one of the cataloged brown colors that Borsalino used in its hats. The serrated sheet that produced that label was in use from 1961 to 1972. The store is actually Teresa Barra (not Darra), which was a high-end vintage boutique and men's clothier located on Via Partenope in Naples (Napoli), Italy that was well-known from the 50's-70's .

Usually the size would also be found on this tag, but I do not see it there.

Thanks so very much for the information!
