Hi everyone,
Picked this one up recently and I'm having a hard time figuring out exactly what it is, except the model. which is Bronx,
It's an Aviakit made in England double rider. The leather is still surprisingly solid but the jacket has seen a lot of use over the years.
The belt was cut off by a previous owner and the remaining straps were stitched down. The main zipper pull looks like a replacement. The lining was pretty much destroyed around the sleeves when I got it, so I repaired it using parts from an old waffle thermal shirt just to keep it wearable.
I've heard everything from 1960s horsehide to 1980s cowhide and honestly I have no idea what to believe anymore. Does anything about the label, construction, lining, or hardware help narrow down the age?
Also curious what people think about the leather itself. Horsehide or cowhide? Any thoughts appreciated. I've included photos of the jacket, label, lining, and hardware.
