After attending a sampling of CODIGO 1530 tequilas last night, this bottle of Reposado is what followed me home. It got the nod after samplings of CODIGO's 1530 Blanco, Blanco Rosa, Repo, Anejo & Origen (at $280/bottle the Origen was not coming home with me).

The King of Country Music, George Strait along with a few of his friends purchased the rights to distribute/market CODIGO 1530 in the US for ~$22M. The distillery rights remain with the original family. As a limited "craft" tequila only available currently in ~20 states it will never go on sale but I can see myself enjoying the Repo & the occasional bottle of Anejo (birthday coming up). The Repo, the Anejo & the Origen are very, very good!
