Has anyone been to the Vanson store recently?

Heading to the Boston area next week for a short vacation and I'm thinking about going to the Vanson store (Tartuwolf's Oxford has me drooling!)

Do they usually keep most styles in stock in most sizes? I would assume my need for a 42 or 44 would be pretty common. Only thing is, I'd really prefer one in a different color than black, so I may end up ordering one anyway. It would be nice to be able to try one on first though.

When I was there a little over a month ago they had a maverick in one of those larger sizes that was either in the granite or brown roma leathers. You are right though that most of their stock on hand will be in a black leather, either the comp weight or firenze medium weight. You might have to ask directly, but when I visited they were still sorting out the tanning process with the tannery making their new stock of brandy and whiskey roma leathers and they had some mock up jackets in the slightly less refined brandy roma as a way of sampling the leather. They looked to have close to a whole rack of what I think were model As in this "brandy" colored leather. Was a nice shade just a little more flat without the desired pull up effect. If that's at all of interest to you they might be for sale.

Vanson has a store in Fall River?

Be careful Fall River is kind of a dump but I may need to check it out when I’m in the area.

Stopped there yesterday, unfortunately we didn't get there until about 5pm so I wasn't able to see the 5th floor where they sew up the jackets. I also underestimated how overwhelming the store is-- there are a LOT of jackets there.

I ended up buying the Oxford 9d that i went there for, and ended up with dark brown Comet too.

I'll have to get some pics up after its get back home. I definitely needed more time to go.

I purchased an older I think 1980’s vanson jacket from eBay couple years ago. The zipper was broken, so I called vanson and they sent me a replacement for free and didn’t even charge for shipping.. who does that? High quality jackets and just a wonderful company to work with! I can’t recommend them enough!
