@Coke20x i agree with @b1lf the arms are too short.

Also i don't recommend buying an article of clothing with the expectation to change your body to wear it. I think a much better approach would be to lose the weight, then see if you can keep it off or reach a comfort weight and buy a jacket that works with that. Imagine losing the 20lbs and then gaining 5-10 (possibly in muscle) and the jacket not fitting then you are stuck with it.

Agree with all the above, try going a size up mate, shoulder and chest can look cool a bit oversized, sleeves will never look good undersized.

Thanks for feedback. The unfortunate part is that i have the largest size available. These Japanese made jackets just don't have the larger sized man in mind. If i return the jacket then that's probably just it for me and FCL... which would be too bad as i like the jacket. Might anyone on here suggest one of the arm stretching techniques or is something like that generally advised against?

It needs stretched one full size. Ain't gonna happen. Return it or sell it on. You can find a much better fit with another brand.

Imo, if you like the fit then dont bother what other people say, if you yourself not sure then better look for something else. I rather have longer sleeve with leather jacket honestly.

Some stuff to bear in mind - the models in these Instagram pics and the way yhe jacket fits them looks good in an Instagram post but half the time the jackets are sitting above their belt, the arms are literally just long enough to sit on the wrist, it looks good in a picture but the reality of a jacket sitting above your belt isnt great, it will constantly ride up even further, particularly when bending, sitting etc, leaving a gap between your trousers and jacket, on anything other than a warm day you will feel the heat loss and any breeze down the back of your trousers. As for the sleeves, bear in mind, once the breaking in and wrinkling process starts, you will lose up to an inch but probably less, maybe a centimetre or so on the sleeves so something that is just right when new will move up a little as it breaks in. When it sits near your wrist, even if you don't ride, if you are just driving a car, sat down somewhere or reaching for anything, the sleeves will ride halfway up your arm. I've owned a jacket where the sleeves were ok when standing still but ended up near my elbow when driving. When trying on new jackets put on your lowest waisted trousers with a belt so you can gauge the worst case length scenario and however the sleeves sits, imagine a cm or two shorter than it sits to allow for breaking in.

I think you can wear the jacket as is, no one is going to point fingers at you on the street like "dude these sleeves are short". You can get away with it, but I agree with others, it's not optimal. And with a jacket in that price range, I personally wouldn't be happy with anything less than spot-on perfect. This is not a 600 USD Schott Perfecto, after all.

There are too many makers that allow you to customize the fit, hide and style of a jacket to keep one that doesn’t fit. OTR is not for everybody. Very few are actually able to go that route, particularly with Japanese brands that are aimed at a population with an average height/weight ratio of 5’7” and 150lbs. If it were me I would learn from this jacket, return it, and use that knowledge to spec a custom piece without compromise.

I prefer my sleeves longer but it's a personal preference, if they don't bother you it's all good. The chest should stretch out a bit with wear, and slimmer jackets tend to look better anyway. I'd keep it.

I keep that one too. It looks good and if you don't ride then the shorter sleeves shouldn't matter. The fit looks good to me, so if you like how it looks and it feels comfortable then I can't imagine returning it.

Thank you for all of the feedback. Ive got a little longer to decide on whether to return. I don't ride and so that might factor for me regarding the arm length. I really like the simple assymetrical style of this particular jacket.

I had not thought or noticed that the length if the jacket was short on me but that might be something to consider as well.

If perhaps Himel was doing this style and less of the D pocket look then i might order a custom from him, its just that FCL has what I'm looking for minus slightly on the arm length... Ugh. Its too bad FCL does not customize.

I'll need to post my fit of the ELMC brown Wind-whatever that i purchased a while back. Really appreciate the feedback from this community.

No, it isn't warm at all as the lining is not very thick. If I was you I would choose an Aero with thicker lining like Alpaca or Harris Tweed or of course other makers which could offer custom made jackets (Thedi, Himel, SB, JL, Lost Worlds....).

For a modern/fashion fit, it's great.
The sleeves often fall short on these jackets. Just check out promo shots of leather jackets by any high fashion brand. Lewis Leathers, for example. All the leather jackets fit this way on their models. Or any other Japanese brand. I don't suppose it's going to be your riding jacket or anything of the sort so I'd say you're good. Run it by Styleforum or Superfuture as well if you have doubts but I think it looks spot on for what it is. TFL favors a certain... utilitarian fit, which is cool and I do too but it clashes with what'd be considered it at the moment and for the $ this jacket costs, I'd want all the aspects of its purpose covered.
It all comes down to what you want from your jacket I suppose but this is a fashion jacket and it does what it should.
