Out and about in the Kingdom of Kerry, family reunion-style.
I took a soft grey Kensington (Stetson store/discount brand) with a bit of a brim (1 3/4"). Supple sweat made it a good traveler, a lot of give when smooshed. We're at Valencia Island on the Ring of Kerry, and again on Inch Beach, ******, made famous in David Lean's RYAN'S DAUGHTER.

Is there's a caps afield thread? I'll just throw in the Galashiels-made houndstooth for good measure.
My brother is wearing some outlandish version of an outback in crushable wool. Ignore him.

As some who read this thread may know, I just returned from a trip to Israel where a good part of the population wear hats everyday. Almost all of the hats are black and are fedoras (as the young man in the right background of my first photo is wearing) or specific chassidic hats (see 2nd photo). The hat I want to target is the older gentleman in the first photo. My clandestine pic did not do his hat justice, but he had it all going on and he didn't even know it! Awesome to see in the wild. I would have loved to ask him if I could hold it and view the label. Sadly, I was not that brave.

He’s got it going on with that one. Nice crown height and overall proportions.

Talk about luck! A fedora in this colour, or similar, has been one of those must do/must get scenarios for months. This one was in what we Brits call, charity shops. Such shops are a popular method of fundraising using retail outlets. Donations are made in the form of items such as clothing, books, or furniture, and the shop sells the items to raise funds for its parent charity.
The hat was priced at just £3. It fits Tina a treat, the ribbon was rather scruffy looking which is why you see the replacement that Tina will be fitting. It could have been the perfect hat had my cranium been half the size that it is. Back to the search.

I was able to make it over to Buckaroo Hatters today. I had a great visit with Mike and the gang. These are the only pictures I got.

Hi Rusty

I have a Sahara colored Safari hat about that size. I was planning on being outdoors all day taking the daughter around OKC in July or August, so I was wearing a nice tan collared cotton shirt with a couple of pockets on the front, Olive cargo shorts, and tan deck shoes. I was really comfortable...

Until I noticed the sort of P. O'ed looks I got at the OKC Zoo.

Now, after my canoing trip in the Linnansaari national park, I visited there in a more civilised manner.
She was built in 1898, sadly but understandably converted from steam to diesel in 1990s. There are still a few of those ships active in the lake district, some still running on steam. Until 1950s, ships like these were the main transport in the area, both people and cargo.
