I suppose it's possible the model in that pic is so petite that she's wearing Alpha's smallest sized jacket and it's still too big, but I doubt it, and I think it's just a style thing.
Robert was actually wearing John's G-1 in this photo.
I am old enough to have seen a number of these fashions come and go, only to repeat the cycle. Skin tight jeans, loose and baggy jeans, skin tight jeans, baggy jeans...etc.
Bell bottoms, straight cut legs, bell bottoms, straight cut legs, bell bottoms...
When the designers run out of ideas, they just steal from the past.

It was filmed at MacDill AFB in Tampa as well. A lot of the flightline buildings in the movie were still there last time I went on base. I think there's some aerial footage of the Tampa Bay Area in the movie as well.
