Here's one from "When Harry Met Sally." Billy Crystal is wearing a CWU-36 with the Velcro nametag patch removed. Not very good pictures of the jacket, but the best I could find on the interwebs.

45/P with the windflap, and a 70s vintage with the vertical stitching and square top (the 36/P never had a windflap). It's a very strange choice for a movie. I could see them using an MA-1, which were always popular and common jackets with civilians, but nomex must have been pretty rare in the 70s and early 80s on the civilian market (nowadays, of course, nomex is easily had on the civilian market).

I stand corrected, it is a 45/P. Good catch Doctor Damage! I thought it was strange to see the jacket as well, especially with the Velcro missing.

Here is Robert Montgomery (Commander, USNR) with The Duke in "They Were Expendable" (1945) wearing an "A-2" jacket (non-issue - two-piece back). I suspect there was a lot of wearing "what you have' or "what you can get" in-theatre during WW-II, and with Navy's involvement with this picture (and Montgomery being a Naval officer), it was an fairly accurate depiction of what was worn.
