Blue Angels (click for large images). Can anyone suggest the likely brand of these jackets? They've got side entry pockets. I bet they're not regular issue.



Blue Angels out on the town, two of whom I'd be happy to meet in a bar. I'm sure they never pay for drinks!

My guess would be that those are Gibson and Barnes. G+B is located in El Cajon and the Blues winter quarters is at NAF El Centro...about an hour's drive away. IIRC, most of the Blues specialty stuff, like blue flight suits and custom helmets, were always done by G+B.

So I wouldn't be surprised if you got your new G+B G-1 (without all your non-uniform fleet patches) when you got your blue everything else.

USAAF glider pilots were issued field jackets for the Normandy landings, so no reason not to post it here!
