That sounds like a solid vintage piece, especially with horsehide jackets from that era. The replacement zip is pretty common for jackets of that age, but sizing can definitely vary a lot compared to modern fits. Hopefully it finds someone who fits it better, since these older Excelled riders are getting harder to come by in good condition.

I got to figure out a replacement zip for a police jacket from vanson. They used the maritime Zips which are made from like a plastic and little teeth kind of sheared off before I bought it.
