Both great choices, they normally come in calf leather. Mid weight and reasonably firm, it is a nice jacket to use everyday.

What does the peacoat look like?

I just stumbled onto this thread and I am just drooling. How do you buy one of these jackets if you are from the USA? Are there any that ever reach the classified section here at TFL?

ELS is pretty niche, as it doesn't really fit the traditional mould of this forum. There are a few members that own an ELS jacket, but I don't recall ever seeing one up for sale in the Classifieds. For new your best bet would probably be to contact directly via Instagram. Mushmans also contracts ELS and has jackets for sale. For used your best bet would be the second-hand Japanese market using a proxy service.

Wanted to share a few pics of when I visited the store last week

I ordered this next jacket in a brown maryam horsehide leather (with a hand dyed process to make it a bit darker as well give it a "uneven" look), when it is ready I'll share some pics!

I loved his office, the owner is great and had a good time talking with him. I'm still studying Japanese but we used Google translate sometimes

He prefers to work with calf and to be honest? After trying the calf jackets I kinda regret not going with one, he uses Tochigi and my god the jackets felt and looked just amazing... If everything goes right I'll for sure order the Bay jacket in calf

Oh and also wanted to share the electric leather studios hasn't made for almost 10 years leather jackets for Mushmans, he indeed helped design the original patterns but he hasn't been contracted to make the main line jackets (daredevil, wire x, etc) for some time, from the way the jackets are stitched and from looking at blogs, I believe Silvet jp is the one making them

Yes, he's really fun to talk to :)
And he likes calf necause it has the right balance in terms of suppleness/firmness for his designs.

I have a curious question...pictures of his shop always has lots of inventory, yet you can not buy any jacket "off the shelf," as each is a made to order one. Are all those jackets not for sale?

Anyone has any fit pictures of his jackets? I messaged him last year and ordered the lightning jacket but apparently, he has a huge wait list. Just wondering how they fit as I do not see many pictures on the internet with folks wearing his jackets.

The fit is tight for the size. High arm hole, slim sleeves, just the characteristics of 60s-70s East West style.

I can do a few fit pics later
