A big, beautiful Hardeman. It reminds me of the recently "ventilated" Knox Tom & Jerry.

This is an absolutely beautiful Mallory straw, that I believe went to one of our members.

I guided a friend of mine who has been looking for a bowler toward that Stetson, and he won it. What's the history with that hat here? I wasn't aware of anything.

The 7 1/2 didn't go for quite as little.

I noticed! Do you find that as odd as I do? Size 7 7/8 and size 8 hats are far, far, far less common than size 7 1/2 hats. Maybe potential bidders were doubtful that the measurements were accurate. I remember buying a "size 9" Borsalino once out of pure curiosity. I hadn't thought of the possibility that it was a Punti size 6 that was read by the seller upside-down. (It was.)

While rarity should drive up the prices, I'd guess that true size 8 heads have given up on finding vintage hats and just don't cruise ebay as often.

Actually it was a 7 5/8's US.
I was one of the bidders but quit at $120. I found it strange that ther were so many large hats at one place, 7 5/8's, 73/4's and 8's ......

I'm not likely to go by the handle "youngpuppy" and the only outlet store I know of is known to the lounge as well.
