Desk Style?

Hi all,

Could some of you experts chime in on which desk has a more golden era feel to it. I'm indecisive--the writing table style is a bit more expensive, but both are under $50.

To me, at least, the first one looks more golden-era-y. The other one just looks like some sort of side-tabe.

I agree with Shangas, the first feels like a desk that belongs in the Golden Era, but the other, while nice, doesn't feel like a desk.

The top one is what's known as a "pedestal" desk. A horizontal working-surface with two "pedestals" on the sides. Very common back in the old days. Smaller, older models were called "kneehole" desks (because the space was just big enough for your knees), while larger ones (MUCH larger than what you see there!) were called "Partner's Desks", because they were meant to be used by two people working face-to-face.
