Dear Loungers, I'd like to trace back the history of this jacket I have recently bought: it should be 40s and (I guess) inspired somehow by the M-422 flight jacket.
Am I correct?
Any opinion/suggestion?

I know that it's closer to a m422a it's a 50s civilian model, no military G1 had hand warmers
Sure about it? All the military G1 I have seen (vintage and loyal repro) were with patch pockets and no warmers...

Those were 50s civil jackets. The design was popular during those years. Schott made them popular again in the 80s. One very practical design, specially if it had a removable mouton and vest.
