NO Expert but suggest gently sanding-down the burnt area (after sure it's actually burnt), and applying some suitable dye to the sanded area. Might take a number of applications of dye to stably replicate original color, so be patient. Afterwards, some Fiebling "Resolene" might help to replicate original finish.

It's a judgment call, and some folks would ignore it altogether.

Have a long time by restoration old and antique. For leather wich rotet or burn, are definitely damaged. Sorry.
In some cases you can over painting area with matching color but technical this not useful anymore.
If this is a small pin or small area just accept this as part of Overall leather style. This shouldn't be a perfect, this make character like denim.
