If ever a guy had a right to be down about a suit, that's the suit to be down about! Incredible! Too narrow and short? If it was a weight issue I'd starve to fit into that one! Ouch!

i remember an episode of Little House on the Praire (i think; one of those stupid romanticised frontier things, anyway) where the father went bankrupt and the bank repossessed and put all his stuff on auction. The locals got together and decided that all items in the auction would be sold for 1 cent or less.

I think a reserve of $200 - $250 would be fair for TFL Members, and that along side your wonderful photographs (you always go the extra mile on those Marc :eusa_clap ) should get the ball rolling nicely.

I suspect too many of us are so into finding stuff that we are used to bargains. Probably not many here who would pay top dollar, either for that reason, or because many here are students, or don't have alot of money to spare. Not to mention having to talk the wife into it. Since the money will go into new clothes for yourself, I do not blame anyone for wanting to get top dollar. Of course, if any of us is well off enough to be generous, that is great.

I have posted, and in the future will post e-bay auctions and offer a 10% discount here to any lounge members who care to bid on it.

Well, unfortunately I think you're out of the range of what I'm currently able to spend on a vintage suit. Which is too bad, because I have this sneaking suspicion that it would fit me. But if it were really EXACTLY what I wanted, I'd find a way to pay you for it, and it's not. So, good luck selling it, hopefully it fetches a fair price from someone who will fully appreciate it.

Yeh. That's even more pronounced with vintage denim. I have denim from every decade since the 30s (yes, even the 80s) and some people simply will not believe that it's not all modern.

Forgot to mention this before ...


I bought the suit hoping very much that it would fit me. The seller's "Buy-It-Now" price was $200, which I paid. Judging by the prices that suits of this vintage, cut, and quality (despite the small size) have been fetching on eBay for the last year, I really do believe that it would command a winning bid price there of between $300 and $400. (See links below.) If a Lounger ends up winning it here for, say, $301, I'll be happy ... and the Lounger can be satisfied that he didn't have to compete with eBayers who'd be willing to pay over $350 for the same suit.
