what do y'all think is better for an everyday wear leather bomber jacket that will be layered.

Bomber makes the wearer look circular. You’d want something that drapes nicely to avoid looking like a ball. Goatskin is softer and works for that purpose.

Maybe OP actually wants to look like a ball, don't make assumptions :D

Well, while he’s at it, he might as well add #8 to look like an 8-ball. That’s currently in fashion.

I have never handled any kind of buffalo (water or bison) but I love my goat skin A-2. It's practically water proof but also breathes easily enough to wear in hotter temps. It drapes beautifully. There is a reason the U.S. Navy chose goat for its leather.

This one looks pretty sweet for a bomber and it's in buffalo leather! Even though the URL says "cowhide-bomber" haha. Good job Schott! Also be careful with buffalo vs water buffalo ;)

But it's also a great example of why I will probably never warm up to bomber jackets:

Unless it specifically says "American bison", I always assume that anything marked "buffalo" is water buffalo. That's most certainly the case with the Schott you posted - "tanned in India" must mean this is water buffalo.

Call it a ball if you want, but personally I love the bloused look. Here's my goatskin A-2 from Lost Worlds after getting caught in a heavy downpour. I was bone dry under the jacket.
