Ha ha!! That's a great idea! I actually have considered just untying the thing every time someone comments on it. If I was more adept at tying it without a mirror, I would!

I have not, but he is mentioned on a couple of other fora I visit and the comments are always positive. NB: the ties are made by the wife of a presbyterian minister, who himself sports a bow tie and seems more trad or preppy (in the best sense of the word) than vintage.

I can't fault him for that. As long as he is promoting the bow tie

This one was quite the pain in the **** to tie. It is a Carrot & Gibbs, but the silk is much thinner than I am use too. Trying to get the sides even was pretty difficult. What you see is how I left it for charm.

I think it's only a southern California chain, but Stein Mart is carrying some Rooster brand bows at $14.99. That's one of the brands I see at Nordstrom rack, for about the same price.

We have a Stein Mart here in Louisville which of coarse is part of California.
