The total contrast of a black shirt under a white (or light) coat is not the easiest look to pull off. Here's some vintage examples of it done RIGHT!
John Lofgren Monkey Boots Shinki Horsebuttt - $1,136 The classic monkey boot silhouette in an incredibly rich Shinki russet horse leather.
Grant Stone Diesel Boot Dark Olive Chromexcel - $395 Goodyear welted, Horween Chromexcel, classic good looks.
Schott 568 Vandals Jacket - $1,250 The classic Perfecto motorcycle jacket, in a very special limited-edition Schott double rider style.

Uniform, actually. Band uniform. Mostly limited to Black bands in the 1930s.J. M. Stovall said:It does look cool, but it does seem like it's mostly used as a costume.
Yes. I have worn a dark navy blue shirt with a houndstooth sports jacket and dark pants. It is not black but looks pretty good if I do say so myself.BellyTank said:Black shirt is good with a light coloured or patterned sport coat and black trousers- the effect is quite different from all white and black shirt.
