Yet another odd offering off of the shelf,

'Bugsy Malone'. Very early style 30's costuming with a huge kids flair since the majority of the actors were kids. Cute musical & fun flick all the way around. I haven't seen it in a lot of years.

'Bugsy Malone'. Very early style 30's costuming with a huge kids flair since the majority of the actors were kids.

I remember reading that the costumers of "Bugsy Malone" took some of the studio's best original 1930s pieces (which had been made for adults, mind you) and CHOPPED THEM INTO MINCEMEAT to "fit" the kid actors. (If you see the movie, notice how incredibly ill-fitting the costumes are.)

Can't disagree there. The costumes were ill fitting. Now, wether they did it for effect remains to be told. Personally I think they did it on purpose to make it look like dress-up anyway. Still was a fun film for kids back in the day.
