I think they are ducks. They are a bit stylised....but it is a nice design. You are correct in that the colour is a soft grey /green.

This is a traditional pattern ascot. Goes well with a blue blazer or v-neck sweater.

It's hard to find anything with interesting animal motifs. I like foulards and paisleys though.These are recent additions.
