This popped up (algorithm induced no doubt) on my eBay Australia.
That and others. Certainly look good and well priced. Chinese made.
More importantly would anyone have previous knowledge of the quality and more importantly the relative sizing compared to US sizing ?
I have searched the Lounge to no avail unless info is buried in another thread
Apologies for the ****py mobile phone screenshot capture

I lived on the Mainland for 14 years and can only offer general advice. Chinese clothing is sometimes cheaply-made (same as anywhere), sometimes made only for a season or three (culture doesn’t value old clothes and every Chinese New Year people chuck out the old clothing and buy new: bar staff in my local could not understand why I preferred an old Aero Highwayman to a new Mariner, and were fairly disgusted that I hadn’t thrown away the HWM) and sometimes as well-constructed as anything else on the market: I’ve had a suit for 11 years that was custom made in Shanghai for 85 GBP that has lasted and lasted and still gets compliments. It’s still the second-best suit I own (a Hong Kong tailored suit is the nicest, but was five times the price).

If you can find a maker who is devoted to what we think of as quality and durability, you’ll get something very good (if not excellent) but you might only know for sure after five years or so in the case of a leather jacket. Personally (and I’ve spent more than half my life full-time in Korea, China and HK), I’d still go with a UK or US maker unless I’d found an example of a ten years plus horsehide jacket in the wild - and there aren’t that many Chinese climates where you’d know it’d been worn convincingly… Beijing and Shanghai have the abrasive winters required and the wealthier set who might be buyers.

You can get fantastic lambskin jackets in HK custom made, but they’re fashion pieces. Used HH and steerhide jackets can be had in HK through Midwest Vintage (especially the store near Electric Road [Watson Rd, iirc]), but they are expensive.

If you’re already here, do yourself a favor, do your research, save up money and buy some JP-made leather jackets. Go try them on in-person (Blue Works or Corlection in Sydney, Aus, for example. Corlection also carries Lewis Leather). If you do it right, you’d only need to buy it once.

No no no, don't listen to him. Just get a used Vanson from JP if you're one of the smaller people. And a used Vanson from US if you're one of the bigger people. JP made jackets are overrated. SHOTS FIRED

How dare you recommend him such a peasant brand over the cream of the crop like Freewheelers, Field Leathers, or Lost Worlds, depending on where he is located at? Stu would like to have a word with you; he’ll reach out shortly. Good luck dealing with Stu!

I'd rather have a hitman coming after me than deal with a raging Stu :(
