Aero Wayfarer options

Hi all, I followed the Ready to Buy event that Aero held last week closely and after liaising with their CS jumped on a Wayfarer in size 46 (I need the extra body length). I'm pretty pleased with the look at fit (photo attached) but unfortunately just don't think I'll get the use out of the CXFQHH (it really is like armour).

I was thinking I'd go with same pattern/size in a midweight (either Vicenza Russet or Pinnacle Cognac) to get a better drape and thus a jacket I'd be more comfortable wearing for more of the year.

It's a pretty big decision for me to go MTO over the discounted RTW so before I place the order just wanted to check in on whether anyone had suggestions of other avenues to check out or styles to consider.

I say keep it. The initial stiffness is daunting if you've never owned a czl horsehide jacket from new. But if you put in a week or two of wear, and wear it actively, it will start to soften. Once broken in, it's a different story altogether. While it does take time, if you wear it constantly it will happen sooner than you think.

Ymmv, though I found all my fqhh Aeros softened quickly. Average break in was about a month of regular wear.

To be fair, the more times I try it on the more tempted I am too keep it... It's just whether it's a false economy when if I was speccing a MTO I'd go midweight, different colour and different liner!

Just stick with it, give the jacket a chance to form a relationship with you. It does not get much better than CXL, especially in larger sizes. Just needs some patience.
