Aero Highwayman Waist Question

Evening people. Just purchased this Aero CXL FQHH Highwayman. It’s great and fits perfectly on the shoulders. I am thinking the waist might be too larger however, as this is a boxy jacket and I have a thinner waist. What are your thoughts? First two photos are with the side straps pulled tight, and the last two are with them at rest.

Firstly, adjusting the side straps is unlikely to make any real difference to the width of the waist when the jacket is unzipped.

Also, the fit of a jacket is generally a personal and subjective thing but for me I’d want at least another inch, and probably two, on its overall length.

As noted, hard to tell with it not fully zipped up, but I'd expect it to be a little looser on the waist than other, less boxy designs. Nothing looks amiss in the photos, though.

It is hard to say from the photos but it looks like it would feel too short for me personally - I think also the fact it is hanging so high is just highlighting the space around the waist area but that could also just be the low camera angle.

Imho, only thing that jacket needs is a good break-in and a relaxed pose.

As is, the leather looks pretty stiff and thus limiting its drape and how it should gather/bunch around the hem, and that robotic looking pose is only accentuating the stiffness of the leather/jacket.

I think this specific model looks waaaay better when the hide has some drape; so either a well broken in cxl fqhh or even better a less stiff hide.

I think it looks pretty ace actually. It's certainly a look, but once both you and the jacket relax a little about how it fits I think you have a beautiful future together.
