I hate this. Another name from the wild west's storied past is about to ride into the sunset. Yes, it is only a "name", but what a legendary name! I find it hard to believe that this will help sales.

Oh wait. It's not as bad as all that: Their firearms will still carry the Smith & Wesson brand. False alarm!

No big. I only buy their older stuff. Don't care for the new production stuff and never cared for their hi barrel axis semi autos. Ill stick with the old 1911 or 19-2 snubby.

I remember, when as a teenager, S&W was a "Bangor Punta" company. Look at who owns Winchester.

If it doesn't have a long action, pinned barrel and recessed chambers, it's not a real Smith & Wesson, or so some would believe.

I figure if it's made in the S&W plant it's real. Now whether or not it's what you want is a different question.
