A Guide to dating Talon Zippers (updated and revised)

This an interesting war time zipper found on this red, White and Blue Forty Below jacket.

Note the V for victory on the pull, pot metal. This is the first use of this U shaped Talon stop box. Subsequent examples have Talon down the middle until c.1950 when the name was dropped.

Wow! What a great help! My Star Leather dated to 1943...(has Crown zips too) it's really amazing to have this kind of resource...thanks TFL!

Likely wartime Brass was scares. Look for date code on back of pull or on bottom of zipper box
