90's Schott Milspec Jackets

Hello,

I've recently purchased a MIUSA Schott A-1987-01 A2 jacket. I can't find much about it, but what I can find (one-piece back, no hand-warmer pockets, drawing no.30-1415 tag on the back, tighter fit, what looks to be better quality leather than usual, and some threads on here) have led me to believe it is a rare milspec Schott jacket made between 1987 and 1996.

Does anyone have more info on these jackets? I've heard the quality is good, but just how good is it? What's the leather like? Are they worth the 260 USD I paid for it?

Cheers.

I guess you don't have the jacket in hand yet, otherwise you'd be the ideal person to answer these questions!

Yeah you are right lol, the main reason I posted this is because I've never felt a proper leather jacket, and nobody I know has one I can compare too.

Schott has never had a military contract for an A-2 or any other leather jacket. Don't confuse "Mil Spec" with a military contract. It may have had a contract or two for peacoats during the war, but its historians couldn't tell me when that was, how many contracts it had, or how many peacoats it produced. So I am suspicious of even that claim.
