1960's Makeup and Hair

I really love 60's hair, and make-up (however it's not very practical, especially with my allergies in the summer, even a tiny bit of mascara and it's going to end up on my chin in 5 minutes!)

Need 1960s look advice

Ladies, on Saturday I am going to a birthday party and have a great dress I have made from a pattern dated 1960 and I have tried all of my 1940's and 1950s hair style and as expected they look rotten with it. So my first question is what on earth do I do with my hair? And as I am sure it is clear I am great with the 40's and 50's but the makeup is much different i the 60s what do I do makeup wise? I should also mention that my hair is naturally curly and though I can soften my curls getting it straight without chemicals if next to impossible.Thanks for all the help. I desperately need it.

but... if you can't get that look, i suggest a beehive... like this

I'd suggest **** to light lipsticks and pastel eyeshadows
You know big hair was also a thing of the 60s just try bigger curls like...beer can curls if you can

Have a look at Project Rungay's Mad Men fashion rundowns. Your 1960s dress is probably going to work really well with some of the hair and makeup they talk about.

1960 was more like the 50's. It was pre-British invasion, pre-Sonny and Cher, pre-surfer. I don't think they were wearing pale lipstick in 1960. The main look seems to be really short bangs. Do a search for "1960 yearbook".

Well all, for those of you who are interested I went for the Mad Men Joan Hollaway type look and here is what I got. I was quite pleased with myself, this was my first attempt at this type of style and it took me less then 10 minutes, and absolutely not rats, for bump its for any other contraptions, it's all my own hair. and nothing else.
