I've noticed that ebay/Etsy don't have much in the way of 50s dress shirts in my 16/34 size.
What am I looking for in a mid 1950s style shirt? What distinctive features should a shirt have for the period? I know spearpoint shirts were still worn, just not as long.
What about a nice button down collar, like James Dean wears in the beginning of Rebel, is LL Bean's classic fit button down close enough to that look?
Finally for more colorful and patterned dress shirts, any repros out there? I see so much more love for the 1940s repros, specifically what Chester Cordite does. Incredible stuff, but I don't know enough how about what made 50s dress shirts unique to begin purchasing anything.
