I am simply trying to get some feedback as to exactly what we have. In this quest Fedora Lounge was strongly recommended, but it seems like the responses so far seem more bothered by my post than helpful. I have actually enjoyed reading past posts about leather jackets, vintage hats and other items. If I belonged to a forum that was along my expertise I would be more than happy to welcome a newcomer and be happy to help and advise.

I really know too much about Jacket this Old but I could say it looks like a great condition and it’s a great score and don’t feel bad. You didn’t steal the jacket. You didn’t even know that it was at the bottom of the box.

It’s a Beck 333 G (goatskin)

Can you show pictures of the main zipper?

It looks to be an original Crown zipper but it’s hard for me to tell.

The sleeve zips are late 30’s to mid 40’s.

The goatskin versions of this jacket are usually older than the horsehide ones. I’ve seen goatskin 333s with grommet zippers dating to the mid/late 30’s. All others are 40’s.

The older ones from before the mid 30’s were manufactured by Leathertogs. All the ones after the mid 30’s were manufactured by Schott.

I have a few Beck 333s and a couple of 444s (slightly different model), but not a goatskin one.

LOL. The YKK zips are a nice touch.

Our friend bought it all thrashed and sent to Dena to replace the coin pocket, epaulette etc… and is now flipping
