Freenote has a few Lee inspired jackets now. The fit looks right to me, though the denim is of course very different to the originals. Not really something I’m tempted by but I appreciate their respectful homage:

What’s the shrinkage like on these? I think my vintage storm rider is tagged 42 but fits me more like a comfortable 38

The Edwin site has exact estimated shrinkages for the recent Archives lineup. It depends on the washing temperature, so difficult to estimate, but I think they mention a temperature of about 30°C IIRC, which we consider a warm wash in Europe.

I gave the shrinkage I experienced with my Archives Storm Rider in a recent post, a few centimetres on the width and on the length after a 15 minute 40°C wash, making the 42 a typical 42 IMO. The vintage Lee jackets are heavily cropped as you know, but fit true to size after a hot wash, IME. I have a 40” chest and can’t comfortably button up the 101-J , but like it that way as I only wear it open,, in the 101-LJ I prefer a roomier fit so I can layer and button it up against the chill, as, of course, it’s a lined jacket meant for colder days, si I wear the 42.

In short, I find vintage Lee denim to be TTS after a hot wash, including the jeans, but cut for slim body types. But a lot of vintage stuff was put in a hot dryer cycle, maybe that’s what you’ve experienced?

Very nice. I'm glad to see Lee having a bit of a moment, too bad they can't seem to capitalise on it as a company, aside from Lee Japan. Even Lee 101 isn't really mining their history or telling their story, though some of their newer stuff seems to be selling in Europe. Wrangler has gotten very big here, Levi's remains a popular icon, but Lee seems content to remain a mall brand in the US.
