Finally.. my very first FQHH Aero Leather!

Hello folks!

After a long-long way of looking everywhere possible, I finally found my very first FQHH Aero Halfbelt!

Long story short, looking for a used Aero small enough for my body wasn't easy.. especially in my country where it is not possible to buy used apparels directly from other countries.

Then this jacket just happens to find its way to me, a size 36 FQHH Aero Halfbelt! The damage was around 450 USD. Which I pretty much thought very viable.
And here's the jacket!

I pretty much love how the color has aged. I personally find it very beautiful and looks amazing. Not sure if this one is a CXL, Vicenza, or the other FQHH. Maybe someone can tell? Hahaha

What do you guys think about the jacket? Was it worth the $$?

Looks great, congrats!

For the leather, there should be a tag inside one of the pockets with a date / maker / number info. You could try emailing Aero if you find that info and see if they can give you the specs.

It is CXL horsehide, 450 USD was a price I wouldn't have paid for it, given it's age and signs of use, but it will still last a life time so if it fits you well, worth it. It certainly is beautiful to look at, rare to see properly broken in CXL FQHH

Thanks! Unfortunately the tag inside the pocket had been cut and left only with the tiny remnant of it hahaha

So it turned out to be a well broken in CXL? I had no clue how an aged CXL looked like and now I'm amazed by how it looks. Price-wise I think my location plays a role affecting the price (little access to used Aero or any other high-end maker, inability to import used apparels and yes including leather jackets) most of the time I'm seeing a used Aero priced around 600 USD or more and often with more wear, but who knows— the damage has been done! Hahaha

Only you can determine if you got value for your money. But if it fits you well and you love it then that's worth some of anybody's money.

Does brown CXL have reddish tint? Because the jacket pretty much looks like it's reddish / burgundy brown rather than actual dark brown, the red looks subtle but it is definitely there (at least to my eyes, might be wrong though).
I took this picture with neutral lighting so it comes as close as how the actual color looks like.

I am curious whether this is just how well-aged brown CXL develops or could actually be a cordovan? I never had any of them, I only have had a russet steer halfbelt previously.

It depends from batch to batch, my first Aero Brown FQHH had a very reddish tint as well, a later jacket did not. Hard to figure out with this colour, could be both really.

On the first sunlight pictures it looks brown to me, so I'll say it is brown and just looks more reddish in the different light you took these later pictures in..

It is indeed hard to figure out even with the jacket on my hand, but I think I'm leaning towards Brown FQHH that has reddish tint.

I just took another few pictures this morning and the red undertones are just there hiding in the plain sight hahaha.
