What I love about this community

After getting into heritage boots and clothing in general for over a year now, one thing I love is how easy it is to change hands whenever there is any fit issue. I used to buy clothes that didnt work out for me after some time and it would just sit in my closet for years because there wasn't any interest in the second hand market due to the trend dying.

Sure you sometimes need to sell your items at a discount, but you can also find items heavily discounted on the second hand market. So it really goes full circle here.

Getting in touch with people from all over the world, we have members from Taiwan, Indonesia, US, Canada, most European Nations, Russia and many more and everyone shares the same hobby. Many people with many different opinions and views, not only on makers, fit and leathers, also on politics, ideology etc and to this day (almost) everyone got along and everyone gone part of this community regardless what puts us apart. I remember a heated discussion with the late HD about ***uality and despite hard arguments exchanged, there always was respect and you could still enjoy each others company and posts about our shared passion.

I love the fact that we all are basically into the same general style and yet I’m amazed at how many unique interpretations and variations I see from members across the world. The ‘basic uniform’ of boots, jacket and jeans really is anything but uniform.

I have to add the discussion and input you get on this forum is very professional and practical. So many forums out there are filled with sarcasm, political issues, bad jokes, insults...but not here. I've learned a lot here.

Agreed, I sometimes do searches on topics here and will read/learn from threads dating back 10, 15, 20 years to when I first joined. This site is a massive repository/library of information on leather jacket construction, maintenance, care and history.

Just wanted to add to this, I've met some people here that i text regularly about jackets, boots, and just heritage in general.

Outside of this community I actually don't know anybody else who shares this interest. I've talked some people in my circle who have come to me for advice on jackets or boots but only for one off purchases. Not necessarily in a hobbyist sense.

It's nice to meet other people with the same level of interest on this stuff cause they are not easy to find in person haha
