Hi all,
Since I'm a fairly new poster around here (though long-time reader) I thought I'd take the opportunity to show off something unique. I had been searching for a cossack style jacket for a few years after falling in love the moleskin cossack that Ooe Yofukuten put out some years ago when my saved eBay search turned up this great jacket with a McGregor Sportwear tag. It looked unusual but I couldn't put my finger on what was going on so I reached out to the seller to get the back story. He explained that maybe 10-12 years before he had purchased a Raw Mister Freedom Campus jacket and immediately sent it to Steve Sellers (who I hadn't heard of before this) to have it modified.
He oiled and tanned it, added a full cotton lining and that create vintage McGregor label, flipped the corduroy around on the collar, replaced the side adjuster tabs with vintage brass hardware (I think this is my favorite feature) and restrung the buttons with a little extra length making it easier to button and wear. All and all a great set of mods in my opinion.
Curious to hear if anyone has any info about Steve. I've googled him and read a little and he sounds like a really fascinating character. The eBay seller told me that he was awesome to work with, a really great guy, and clearly a master craftsman.
Anyway, I shot a few photos of this jacket while I was prepping some other items to list. Not currently for sale, but please enjoy!
