You must be spelling Art's name wrong. If you Google Art Fawcett, hat maker.....the only links that appear are to links to Art. There are lots of them.New eBay search results: 9000 pictures of Farrah Faucet and one hat.![]()
Google works correctly. eBay search, however, thinks is smarter than you and makes suggestions that are ALMOST what your searching for. You like Art Fawcett? You'll love Farrah Fawcett. You must be spelling Art's name wrong. If you Google Art Fawcett, hat maker.....the only links that appear are to links to Art. There are lots of them.
The worst of the worst is Etsy.com. It does not work on any level.Google works correctly. eBay search, however, thinks is smarter than you and makes suggestions that are ALMOST what your searching for. You like Art Fawcett? You'll love Farrah Fawcett.
Probably next worst is the search engine here in the Lounge. But if you combine it with google it works well. The worst of the worst is Etsy.com. It does not work on any level.

Did you buy it? It is sold. Thanks Jeff![]()
That's what I'm trying to do here. Glad I was able to help.I did. I’ve been waiting for an Art Fawcett that fits me in a reasonable price range and I couldn’t resist - I appreciate you bringing it to my attention.
Wow, this is the first time I have witnessed a used hat selling for more than the original sale price. Used hats generally don't appreciate.Got another live one 7 3/8

OTOH, have you tried purchasing a Stetson One Hundred recently? Perhaps Mr. Fawcett has reached that rare air.Wow, this is the first time I have witnessed a used hat selling for more than the original sale price. Used hats generally don't appreciate.
Supply and demand. All the available Art Fawcett hats I’ve seen have been too small for me except for this one. If I recall correctly all the list prices have been much higher as well. There is an AF for sale now on eBay listed at $800 I think. I have no idea what that hat will end up going for, and I won’t be the one to find out. Some of these eBay guys will sit on stuff forever instead of lowering their ask. I’ve seen guys with hats on here for a year and a half reject a fair market offer out of hand. I assume this is because either a.) they are emotionally anchored to an unreasonable price point or b.) they know this market is highly niche and inconsistent and they are willing to wait it out until the right whale comes along.Wow, this is the first time I have witnessed a used hat selling for more than the original sale price. Unless it is a rare vintage I have rarely, if ever, seen a used hat sell for more than its original ask. And I have been collecting for a very long time.Supply and demand. The seller auto-rejected offers at $300 and $350. In the time it took me to figure this out several other people put it in their carts, etc., and I wasn’t willing to quibble over the difference at the risk of losing it in this instance.
Many of my hat purchases serve a dual purpose as a reference in my ongoing efforts to educate myself about this market. Unfortunately, supply being what it is the only way to do this that I have found is to buy stuff so I can compare notes for myself.
Now I can check the Art Fawcett box on my internal spreadsheet and chill out a little bit.
I’m sure if all interested parties were willing to let it sit on the open market for a few months someone could have gotten it for $300 or $350, but odds are it would not have been me.![]()
What was the original list price of the hat under discussion?Unless it is a rare vintage I have rarely, if ever, seen a used hat sell for more than its original ask. And I have been collecting for a very long time.
