Boot makers with the best leather selection and clicking?

I know they get a lot of hate given the mounting price increases, but I still think Viberg clicking is excellent. Never had an issue with loose grain on the CXL boots I've gotten from them. Nowadays I tend to prefer hides where clicking is less of an issue (kudu, cordovan, horsebutt, suede)... but the few pair of CXLs from viberg all look great still.

im not really a fan of the viberg lasts. Although some of their older models are nice.

Since creating this thread though, I've acquired briselblacks, XBXS, and now finally role club engineer boots. Finally had the spare budget to splurge on engineers and was really torn between unsung and role club but I gotta say the role club pattern is one of the best I've seen. And its subjective but i think role club 1940 and 1945 looks better than unsung.

As far as clicking goes, haven't had any issues so far. But i would say xbxs beats briselblack when it comes to that. Although briselblack is still really good

Curious how you sized your xbxs boots. I've been eyeing several pairs but have always been too fearful to take the plunge

I actually bought them second hand and asked for length and width measurement pics. Its slightly long in the length so probably about half a size to a full size big but i use inserts in my boots so it ended up being perfect.

But yeah i would suggest comparing those measurements to another pair you own that fits really well. Its not always an apples to apples comparison due to last shape but i think its probably the best you can do

I try to get both if possible
